Mulch Installation FAQs

Mulch provides many health benefits, here are just some of the many positive effects:

  • Ability to retain moisture within the soil
  • Reduces injury to surrounding plants thanks to insulation
  • Helps to prevent weeds from emerging and keeping them at bay
  • Organic mulches (such as the ones we provide here) break down useful nutrients over time, helping surrounding plants

Ideally, you should spread mulch at least once a year. Pine straw counts as a type of mulch, so you could do that as well.

One cubic yard covers approximately 100 square feet at a 3″ depth

It depends on the size of the bag; however, the most common size is 2 cubic feet. After calculations, 1 cubic yard of mulch is equal to 13.5 bags.
